Mechanical engineer

VitalFluid is a young and dynamic company in the field of plasma technology and the development of Plasma Activated Water (PAW) applications. PAW is a relatively new phenomenon and is produced by using only water, air and electricity. The properties of PAW can be used in agriculture, medical applications and water purification. VitalFluid focuses on the development and commercialization of PAW technology. In the first instance, especially in the agricultural sector, where PAW can be used as a sustainable alternative to conventional synthetic and organic fertilizer, the treatment of seeds and as a sustainable method to increase plant resilience and health. In addition to the agricultural sector, applications are also possible in the medical sector and cleaning of surfaces. Due to capacity expansion, we are looking for a mechanical engineer to (temporarily) expand our team.

Role

As a mechanical engineer, you play a crucial role in the product development and production of the PAW machines. You work together with development, engineering, production and suppliers. You are responsible for carrying out the detailed engineering and drawing up the engineering packages (BOM, 2D/3D drawings) that serve as the basis for the assembly processes of the PAW machines. We are looking for a mechanical engineer with a broad technical knowledge and affinity.

Tasks

• Designing, drawing and calculating Plasma machines, modules and parts according to drawn up specifications and functional design.
• Performing the necessary calculations, checks and analyses with regard to the functionality, manufacturability, quality assurance and reliability of the design of the PAW production machines.
• Drawing up mechanical machine and component requirements.
• Drawing up 2D/3D drawings using AutoCAD Inventor system.
• Ensure efficient manufacturability of the machines in design and engineering.
• Preparation of building books.
• Making strength calculations and calculations.
• Preparing and carrying out design reviews together with other disciplines.
• Considering and determining used materials and dimensions.
• Working on improvement proposals and standardization of products and working methods.
• Coordinate with suppliers and production partners.

Job requirements

• Hbo mechanical engineering, mechatronics, industrial engineering completed. 
• Indication 5-10 years' work experience.
• Experience with production environment; or bring material towards production.
• Experience with outsourcing work.
• Familiar with certification standards, for example for CE certification.
• Experience with CAD package Inventor.
• Familiar with different production techniques: sheet metal, CNC, thermal modeling is an advantage.
